Preparing for an adventure

Even the most experienced adventurers will tell you the importance of being prepared! So, before your little adventurer comes to playschool, make sure they’re set up and ready for whatever the day brings.

Preparing for the great outdoors

Outdoor adventures

Children need to be prepared for our adventures whatever the weather. Our adventures will be adapted for the weather conditions but we will encourage the children to embrace all weathers and find the fun in all conditions!

So with this in mind we’ve included a suggested kit for the winter days:

  • Warm hat
  • Buff/snood (neck warmer)
  • Gloves (waterproof ski gloves are perfect for the really cold days)
  • Base layers (thermal trousers or leggings and a long sleeved top or vest)
  • 2 pairs of socks (preferably a thicker one on top)
  • Trousers (joggers are ideal)
  • Additional long sleeved top
  • Fleece or warm jumper
  • Warm waterproof coat
  • Waterproof trousers or all in one
  • Wellies (a change of shoes for indoors)

We are always hopeful for those warm sunny days. Should we be lucky enough to experience these, please pack sunscreen and a sunhat.

The only weather which would prevent us from going out is high winds. Grown ups can help us by making sure we have the right kit and lots of spares! We can provide waterproof trousers for use during the day. If you are struggling to get your kit together please speak to a member of our team.

Please remember to put your child’s name on all of the items they bring with them.

School uniform

Uniform is completely optional, but we do offer Adventure Playschool clothing to make things simpler. View our School Uniform and order online.

Snacks and lunch

We provide healthy snacks at our snack bar throughout the day but ask that you supply a healthy packed lunch for children that are attending all day or our afternoon session. Please ensure your child’s lunchbox is named. All dietary requirements and allergies will be discussed with you on enrolling your child.

Bring extra supplies

If your child is still wearing nappies or pull-ups, please pack a named bag with plenty of nappies, wipes and cream. Please ensure all children have spare clothing in their bags. If accidents happen or we have some messy fun, its always nicer to change into your own clothing.
